The Birthday Party

First of all, thanks to you guys for reading and posting comments on my blog!! I feel famous ;) Beginning to realize (or should I say to remember) appreciation goes a long way in supporting growth.

Well, came to tell you about my daughter's birthday party yesterday. Had a good time, I should say. It was the most unplanned, spontaneous show that I have ever put up. I'm the kind that starts to pack my bag with one thing at a time for about 2 months before a vacation. For her first birthday, I had started making the guest list from when she was born, I think!! So what happened to me this time round?? Well, definitely not disinterest. What then? No idea.
But, my daughter enjoyed every moment of it! I came up with these spontaneous ideas to make it a special day for her - blowing the balloons and filling the room with it, getting out the candles and lighting up the entire room, placing her soft toys all around where she could find them (they were not ingenious, I know, but I'm new at this game!). And it was sooooo much more fun this way. I don't like taking risks (of any proportion) at all. Period. But this was a different experience for me. And I heard her say "super" (which is what she says when she likes something) at least 7 times. :)  That's a record! And I'm beginning to love spontaneity, a new territory..
